IN THE HEART OF THE SEA

      In the novel In the Heart of The Sea, The main character Thomas Nickerson was going on his first journey on a whaling ship in Nantucket. He starts off as being a young man that loved to be out on the water. All he wanted to do was be out there for money and fun. But as time went on he faced whole lot more then he expected. From my understanding this is his first time going on a whaling ship. He was expecting to have a good time but from the experiences he faced he would turn into something that he never thought he could be. The key catalyst for Thomas's change was when there ship was attacked by the whale. They were all forced to survive on their own with no resources and live as long as they can even if it took to eat and survive off the people you were close too.
